My Morning Jacket’s hour-long performance on Austin City Limits is set to premiere on October 18, and the band just shared a rendition of “Knot Comes Loose” from their 2005 album, Z, that didn’t make the official broadcast. Alongside the performance, MMJ will be inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame, with Academy Award-winning director Cameron Crowe presenting the band with the prestigious honor. To pay tribute to the 20th anniversary of Z, the band is embarking on a tour this fall with a series of shows set to highlight that record. “To celebrate two decades of it being out in the ether, we’re excited to be turning five of our shows into special Z anniversary shows,” James says, while adding that the band will “play that album – and some other songs, don’t worry – front to back.” Earlier this year, MMJ released their tenth studio album, Is, which reached the Top 20 in Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Independent Albums charts.
