In a new interview with Rolling Stone, producer Andrew Watt confirms that he is working with The Rolling Stones on their upcoming album, following his role in producing their 2023 Grammy-winning record, Hackney Diamonds. While the 34-year-old producer didn’t share many specific details of the new recording sessions, Watt did share that his creative partnership with the Stones is “like working for Batman,” while adding that, “When the tongue is up in the air, you just go. I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.” The band has reportedly amassed a vast backlog of material over the years, along with a series of unreleased new songs created during the Hackney Diamonds sessions. The Stones have apparently been recording since April at Metropolis Studios in London, with guitarist Keith Richards’ son, Marlon, and Ronnie Wood both hinting that the album is nearly finished.
