Morrissey canceled his scheduled concerts over the weekend at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort and Boston’s MGM Music Hall due to a “credible threat” against his life. According to a statement by the Music Hall on Instagram: “In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey’s life. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, tomorrow’s [September 20] engagement at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway has been cancelled.” The threat originated from Noah Castellano, a 26-year-old Ottawa man who was arrested for posting on the social app BlueSky that he planned to shoot Morrissey during a September 12 performance in Ottawa. Despite this threat, the former Smiths frontman performed at Ottawa’s CityFolk festival but has now canceled shows out of caution for safety. Castellano posted bail and is currently under supervision, though it remains unclear if additional threats prompted the cancellation. The venues confirmed that all tickets purchased for the canceled shows will be refunded. (Rolling Stone)
