On Tuesday (May 13), Mumford & Sons announced plans to relaunch their Railroad Revival Tour. The British folk rock band will be joined on their unique four-date trek by a variety of special guests including Nathaniel Rateliff, Lucius, and Trombone Shorty. Following the original 2011 tour’s concept, the band will play at outdoor venues near train stops, beginning in New Orleans on August 3, and continuing in Spartanburg, South Carolina (Aug. 4), Richmond, Virginia (Aug. 5), and Burlington, Vermont (Aug. 7). “We felt we had some unfinished business on the great American railroad,” says frontman Marcus Mumford. “So, we’ve spent a lot of time cooking up this idea for another rolling festival to rip through the south and east of the U.S. Every show will be a collaborative performance from a bunch of our favorite people on the planet, and every show will be different. This will, without doubt, be the coolest house band we’ll ever get to play in.” Tickets go on sale Friday (May 16), with an artist presale starting Thursday (May 15). (Rolling Stone)
