Following last week’s reissue of the 1973 album, Buckingham Nicks, Stevie Nicks took to Instagram on Monday (September 22) to share a pre-fame letter she wrote to her parents while recording the project with Lindsey Buckingham. The soon-to-be 25-year-old singer revealed her hopes and dreams for the future, assuring her family that all her hard work “will pay off in the end.” Addressed from what Nicks refers to as “the ‘famous’ Sound City Recording Studio” in Los Angeles, the letter expresses her exhaustion from “sitting around listening to 12 hours of music per day.” Imagining a future of success and comfort where she is “sitting in my small but luxurious Beverly Hills home overlooking my small but tasteful pool that is totally secluded,” Nicks affectionately teases her family, plans a playful celebration for her 25th birthday, and praises Buckingham’s guitar skills while predicting their musical greatness. Though the album was not initially a commercial hit, it eventually led to the duo joining Fleetwood Mac. (Rolling Stone)
